Note

Betting odds for American Football are moneyline only – no spread or total. This is a limit of the data source, not a plugin setting.

🚀 Setting Up Your Site

  1. Install and activate Sports API Hub – see the Installation guide.
  2. Add your API key and select American Football under the sports you want – see the API Setup guide.
  3. Import a league. From Discover, pick NFL (or an NCAA division) and a season, then run the import tasks in order – see the First Import guide.
  4. Add a shortcode or use a permalink page to display games, standings, or a team – see Shortcodes.

A full NFL season (roughly 285 games) takes about 12 minutes to import through the admin screen. You don’t need to touch it again after that – the plugin keeps scores, box scores, and standings current on its own.

Live Scores on Game Day

Once a season is imported, game pages and calendar/scoreboard shortcodes update automatically while games are in progress – score, current quarter and clock, and box score, without reloading the page. See Live Scores for how this works and how to tune the polling interval.

🆘 Troubleshooting

A CFL/UFL/ELF game shows scores and standings but no box score. This is expected – those leagues don’t publish player-level stats through the API. NFL and NCAA (FBS, FCS, Interdivisional) do.

No odds are showing, or only a moneyline. Also expected – American Football odds are moneyline only, and the bulk odds fetch isn’t available for this sport. Per-game odds still work.
