API Import – Discover New Games to Create – (New Tool) – Football Leagues

AnWP Football Leagues has introduced a new tool since v0.16.5 that simplifies the process of finding and creating new games for existing competitions.

Step 1 – Discover New Games

AnWP Football Leagues has introduced a new tool since v0.16.5 that simplifies the process of finding and creating new games for existing competitions.

Go to “FL API Import” (1) > “Discover Games” (2) to open the newly introduced tool. Below, you will see all “starred” competitions (saved on your Dashboard).

Click on the “Discover New Games” button to find new games provided by API not created on your website.

Please wait until the end of the process. Competitions with no games to create will be automatically removed from the list.

Step 2 – Create New Games

In the next step, we will attempt to create new games. Depending on various factors, different situations may occur. We will describe the most possible solutions.

It is strongly recommended to handle competitions one by one from top to bottom.

2.1 – Create Games

Let’s assume you have a valid competition structure and proper mapping rounds saved. There were some missing games in the competition, and the API provider added them some time ago.

Just click on “Create Games”.

If everything is OK, the plugin will create new games, and the competition will disappear from the list.

2.2 – Map New Rounds and Create Games

When you created the competition, the API only had half of the available games and rounds.

Click on “Modify Structure”

You will see a notice that you have 9 not mapped rounds.

Add rounds one by one, or click to “Set All”

Check if the structure is correct and click on “Next Step” button

Check that the groups have been recognized correctly and click “Update Competition Structure”

Try to create New Games.

2.3 – Update Local Competition’s Structure, Map the API Round, and Create Games

The most complex situation is when you see that your local competition is missing some rounds or stages.

You must analyze it, open local Competition for editing in a New Tab, and create the required Stages or Rounds.

After creating Rounds and Stages, go back and click on “Reload Local Structure”.

Update and save structure

Then, try to create new games.

Step 3 – Update Finished Games, Predictions, Players, Injuries (Optional)

In step 2, we have created games as fixtures (without finished scores, statistics, and so on…)

If you haven’t scheduled all tasks in your Dashboard or want to get finished data right now, go to the Dashboard page (1), select Competitions (2) and run appropriate tasks (3)
